Wheelmonk is one of the enemies in Nioh 2.

Character Directory[]

A yokai like a wheel with a gigantic face attached to it. The wheel is big enough to be used on an oxcart, and while the face has a certain degree of freedom to leap from it they remain tied to it by their hair. Wreathed in flames and scowling hideously as they roll around, the face resembles a visitor from another world, and has long struck terror into the hearts of those who witness them.

They have awful destructive power and attack by ramming with their bodies engulfed in flames or by spitting fire from their mouths. Depending on where they appear, they can also start fires in the surrounding area, which can rapidly grow to raging infernos.

Location[]

Wheelmonks primarily appear in fire-based levels. They appear as early as A Favor for the Blacksmith, later making a prominent appearance in The Frenzied Blaze.

Behavior[]

Wheelmonks mainly attack by rolling, leaving trails of fire in their wake. They also breathe fire. Their Burst attacks consist of jumping around or rapidly charging. In The Frenzied Blaze, there is a special type of Wheelmonk that wields blue fire. These searing flames can even damage a player that is protected by Soaked, but can be quelled by defeating the Wheelmonk that controls them.

Weak Spot & Tactics[]

Wheelmonk's weak point is its face.

Wheelmonk uses mainly fire, so bring fire resistance and water attacks. They don't have much Ki, but they get up with a fire spin, so be careful when laying on the pain. They cannot be grappled.

Drops[]

  • Wheelmonk Soul Core
  • Broken Wheel Piece

Dialogue[]

  • Yokai Text: I will turn and turn... and everyone will burn!
