Enenra is a boss in Nioh 2.

Character Directory[]

A yokai composed of smoke and darkness, born from the grudges of humans who met their untimely ends in the Dark Realm. It has no one true form, ever-changing as it drifts through the air. It is said to draw close to its victims by disguising itself amongst the steam and smoke of a bath of hearth in the home.

In spite of its hulking appearance, the Enenra is quick and agile due to its smoky origins. One would be wise to not make the mistake of thinking it slow in movement or mind. It can instantly take on the form of a tornado, pursuing its prey with frightening speed. An Enenra in this form is best avoided, for it advances relentlessly while damaging all in its path.

Enenra is sometimes linked to Enma, the god of hell in Buddhist mythology. It is said to appear in a wreath of hellfire, licked by scorching flames so hot a human would instantly be turned to ash. One wonders if a douse of ice-cold water may be enough to gain the upper hand in battle against this fiery yokai.

Location[]

Enenra is the boss of the second mission, The Beast Born of Smoke and Flames. It appears in a few later missions.

Behavior[]

Enenra primarily attacks with punches, kicks, and slam attacks. It can cause fire to erupt from the ground in a grid pattern and can throw a row of tornadoes. It can turn intangible to reposition itself for a strong attack. Its Burst attack has it turn into a tornado and charge the player. When its Ki is depleted, it summons the Dark Realm. Its speed dramatically increases, its attacks become imbued with fire, and it gains a Burst grapple.

Weak Spot & Tactics[]

Enenra's weak point is its core, which is exposed when its Ki is depleted or the Dark Realm is active.

Enenra can string together attack combos that can easily catch players off guard if they anticipate the wrong one. Do not stop evading or blocking until its combo is definitely over. Be careful with its ground bursts, as elemental damage bypasses blocking. In the initial fight, it can be lured into breaking the support columns, causing water to fall on its head and inflicting Saturated. Use any form of water element attack you can find to help douse this fiery beast.
